Canada Motorhome Trips is the Canadian road-trip side of Far & Away Adventures, a travel agency in Sidney, British Columbia. This page explains who you will be dealing with, what the service is set up to do, where its role stops, and how a typical enquiry moves from first message to a booked motorhome.
Why a BC travel agency writes about motorhome trips
Normand has road-tripped across Canada with his family, and the practical questions from those trips are the same ones travellers bring to the agency: how many hours of driving a day still feels like a holiday, which campgrounds need reserving early, what a one-way drop-off does to the price, and which rental extras are worth paying for. The guides on this site collect those answers by region, by cost topic and by travel style, so you can arrive at an enquiry already knowing what matters for your trip.
The site covers the whole country, from the Rockies and British Columbia to the Atlantic provinces, Ontario and Québec and the Yukon.

What we help with
- Route and pace. Matching a region and route length to the days you actually have, with realistic driving days and time to stop. The itinerary hub shows the starting points.
- Vehicle choice. Working out which motorhome or campervan type suits your group, beds, luggage and driving comfort. See how RV types compare.
- Reading rental quotes. Putting mileage rules, insurance options, deposits, prep fees and one-way charges side by side, so you are comparing the full cost. Common hidden fees are a good primer.
- Pick-up city. Choosing between Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Halifax and other depots based on flights and the route. See pick-up planning.
- Campground planning. Identifying which nights are hardest to secure and which areas suit your vehicle. See campgrounds and RV parks.
- A custom itinerary. For rentals of 7 days or longer booked through CanadaMotorhomeTrips.com, you receive a complimentary custom itinerary suggestion with recommended stops and campground areas.
- Travel insurance. Because Normand is a licensed travel-insurance advisor in BC, travel medical and trip cancellation cover can be discussed in the same conversation. This is separate from the vehicle cover sold by the rental company.
What we do not do
Being clear about this avoids surprises later:
- We are not a rental company. The motorhome, its condition, the security deposit, damage rules and return requirements belong to the rental company you book with, and its contract is what applies.
- We do not run campgrounds or park reservation systems. National, provincial and private campgrounds open bookings on their own schedules and set their own vehicle-length and hook-up rules.
- The articles are planning guidance, not live quotes. Road closures, wildfire notices and park advisories change during a season, so current official sources come first. The route map and road reports page lists where to look.
- We will not push a region that does not fit. If your dates, group or driving comfort suit a different trip better, we will say so.
How working with us goes
- You send your travel window, preferred pick-up city, number of travellers and the places you hope to see. Rough ideas are fine.
- Normand or a team member replies with follow-up questions: driver ages and licence country, children's ages, pets, accessibility needs, and whether a return trip or one-way route makes more sense.
- Vehicle options and rental terms for your dates are laid out side by side, including what is optional.
- Nothing is booked until you confirm, and the rental terms are in writing before you do.
- For qualifying rentals you receive the itinerary suggestion, which you are free to adjust as you go.
The full sequence, with what to prepare at each stage, is on Plan your trip.

Who the guides are written for
Many enquiries come from overseas, so there are dedicated notes for travellers from the UK, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, plus a general international visitor guide. Canadians and North American travellers use the same route and cost pages.
There are also guides by travel style: families, couples, first-time renters, seniors and travellers with accessibility needs.
